However, 8 and 16 layer disks have been produced, and would be readable by any current Blu-Ray player with a firmware update. You're assuming Blu-Ray disks will continue to have only one or two layers. Until that time, HDDs and DVDs will do just nicely. When the price of a Blu-Ray disc is 6x that of a DVD(they carry around 6 times the storage, sounds fair to me) call me again. Not only is the optical drive prohibitly expensive, the discs themselves do not come cheap). They are not impressively big(with 1TB drives around for ca. I can live with the quality DVD for a quite a while it's nothing compared to the ugly mess that we call VHS-tapes. Now we have expensive Blu-ray which is 25GB per disc(50 for dl) and it's not at all impressive. Then came the DVD which was 100 times better than old magnetic tapes(I still have some of those lying around, dumb spacefillers). I remember possessing a 4GB drive, 7 CDs would match that. When the CD was released it was huge compared to HDDs. Buy with confidence as the condition of this item and its timely delivery are guaranteed under the 'Amazon A-to-z Guarantee'. Personally, I don't see Blu-Ray working like DVD and CD did. To be fair, though, you mangled it too - 1.6/1000!=.16. The only places I had it right are where I screwed up TB v GB on both sides. That big long post and I had GB TB all the way through. If necessary, we may be able to help you locate drivers, et cetera.Who in the world uses bites when the Library of Congress is the standard measurement for data storage. Once you have chosen a solution, do not hesitate to post back. From there, depending on the PC model, files could be burned to a CD, copied to a USB flash drive, or transferred to one of your Macs via a network. However, the PC would also need a Mac-disk utility (such as MacDrive or TransMac) in order to read the Mac-formatted Zip disks. It should be possible to connect the Zip 100 Plus to a parallel port (using the proper cable and drivers). Otherwise, you could perhaps ask someone with an old PC for help.

I do not know whether it would work with the current iMac, but it should probably be OK with at least one of the other two machines (drivers may or may not have to be added). One way would be to look for a USB Zip 100 (although the prices are relatively high at online auction sites), and connect that drive to one of the more modern Macs. Unfortunately, the other computers mentioned do not have suitable ports (unless the PowerPC G4 is a Power Macintosh model with a SCSI card). The Zip 100 Plus was able to use a SCSI or parallel connection.
